MARFÁ, PERMANENT OBSERVER OF LANDSCAPE REALITY

He was born in Barcelona in 1928. It is formed under the mastery of Olagari Junyent, who enhanced his artistic qualities.

He studied at the School of Fine Arts and Crafts of Barcelona, Academia Baixas and other academies and schools of the City of Barcelona.

In the beginning he works in graphism and advertising creation, where he demonstrates his qualities as a great cartoonist.

He has always combined his ease by drawing and graphic creation with painting, working at Gráficas Ferrer Gregori, starting in 1946; Spanish charts, in early 1952; Tell you, the period 1972-78:

he founded the company Marf-Ibern 1952, specializing in graphics and advertising, which dissolved in 1976 and finally created the firm Marfá that lasted from 1976 to 1989.

He is a painter concerned with color, which integrates within the composition through an accurate, agile and dynamic brushstroke, structuring the work into zones, without seeking academic balance.

In this sense his painting, over time, becomes less and less detailed and descriptive, giving importance to the pictorial gesture, which denotes a great dynamic ease of stroke.

Marfa does not usually patiently make the work, because he is a restless and nervous painter, who paints according to the mood of the moment and also does not like to touch it up after it has been finalized apparently.

In this way many of his paintings seem unfinished, as if the color needed even one more brushstroke. This creative attitude gives the work an escaped sense and instant capture that consolidates its personal vision that corresponds to a restless and dynamic man.

In addition, Marf, paints in a very varied color palette, however within the same period, in the same series, and therefore it is very difficult for it to present a uniform work.

In this sense each work begins and ends, but at the same time, there is a relationship between all the works of each period.
